Before bypassing the lid switch, check whether the magnet on the lid is OK. The reed switch is under the cover adjacent to the position of the magnet when the lid is closed.

It will be easier to replace the magnet on the lid than to strip the whole top of the machine to get to the switch. It will be easier to replace the magnet on the lid than to strip the whole top of the machine to get to the switch.

all top loader washers have a lid switch so machine will stop when lid is raised,on the inside of the lid the is mounted a small plastic cover with a magnet inside which activates a switch just under the top of the machine if the magnet is gone thats your problem,if still there then switch is faulty
You will need to replace the part on the lid. This piece pushes on the lid switch letting the machine know the lid is closed. You can by pass this until you are able to get the piece by pushing a screw driver into the hole where the part from the lid went. Be sure not to push it in to hard, if you do you will have to replace the switch also. Be sure to replace the part from lid because this is a safety switch to keep hands and arms out of the machine while it's running.

This is probably a lid cover open protection. Check to see if there is a magnet on the cover, positioned almost to centre (slightly to the right) at edge of the cover. There is some sort of plastic catch to house the magnet. If it is not there, place a magnet at the corresponding area on the washer where the plastic catch will touch when the lid cover close.
the door switch sounds like it has gone bad, check with a multi meter, they can check it for u at any appliance parts store if u dont have a multi meter
