COBY 31.5" LEDTV3256T made in china experiencing "DOUBLE PICTURE/PROJECTION, SO EVERYTHING BECAME BLURRY, ITS LIKE A SHADOW OF THE ENTIRE SCREEN... PLUS SOME LINES IN THE LOWER PORTION OF THE SCREEN.

I saw a youtube video on how to repair it & it was actually very easy, by re-affixing the thin cables attached to the left & right side of the monitor & adding some scotch tape for better contack i guess, but it was for a Samsung TV & the diagrams of that tv is different from my Coby.

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.

SOURCE: Picture shadow on rear projection Sony big screen TV

You have 2 distinct problems that should be addressed separately. Please repost the Samsung problem. I will address the Sony problem here.

If the "shadow" makes the picture seem somewhat of a 3D one, the problem is with the convergence circuit. This could be as simple as bad connections on the pins of the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder and would like to attempt the repair, update this and I'll provide more details and instructions.

SOURCE: Picture is double lined of greens and reds

You have a convergence output IC failure. You my also need a few small associated parts as well. Expect to pay $350-450 to have this fixed.

SOURCE: sony xbr-52in projection tv show double picture's

It sounds like a convergence problem. A fairly common reason for thisproblem is the convergence chips have failed. They are usually referredto as "STK" chips since the model number of these chips start with STK.I will put a link to another part of this site where someone has postedpictures and a link where to get the parts should you decide to fix ityourself. Look at Ecullier2012's posting. Jean's posted site will notfix this problem. Hope this helps you out. Let me know.

SONY PROJECTION TV MODEL # KP-51WS510.

If the entire screen is curved, and it is not taking the whole screen, then you have a vertical deflection problem.

If the colors are double and do not match, with lines of different colors around pictures , then you have a convergence problem, often caused by a faulty convergence board.

The curving effect can be a side effect of bad convergence, or you may have both problems at once.

Unless you are a TV repairer yourself, better calling technical support. Usually you can ring the number listed on the owner manual.

yes the convergence problem leaves a shadow of red or blue like an outline around the picture, sometimes part of the screen some times the entire screen.

The convergence circuit has failed. It is not a easy fix due to the tear down needed to get to the circuit area. I would call Mitsubishi at 18003322119 to get a Authorized Service Facility to check it out and give you a estimate of repair cost.

Sony rear projestion TV has blurry picture.

sounds as if your convergence needs to be set. either through the menu on the tv or remote you need to get to the convergence set screen and you need to line up the crosshairs. this usually happens when the tv is moved or bumped.

BLURRY SCREEN

If all 3 colors are mis-aligned, you may have solder connections that blew a fuse. There are three fuses next to the flyback transformer, one usually blows causing this issue. Resolder the flyback solder connections and replace the fuse to fix.

Bad convergance, blurry

you are having a convergence fail. would need to replace the STK convergence ICs. they are probably going to be STK392-040 and there are 2 of them. you would also need to check all the pico fuses around the area.

Has a shadow on picture. Red, Green is not alligned

You need to set your convergence. Check your owner's manual on how to do it. I'm not sure the exact procedure on that model, but usually you can find it in the setup menu of the tv. What you're trying to do is line the red and the blue up perfectly with the green so that they all blend together to give you one picture.
