HOW DO I RESET WHEN adding a new toner cartridge

The toner container requires resetting.
The Brother limited warranty does not apply to any problem that is caused by the use of third party drum units, toner cartridges, or toner. ... Installing a non-Brother toner cartridge or refilling a toner cartridge will not clear a toner low or toner empty indication on the machine.
Use a Brother cartridge.

Check your developing gear maybe one already worn out replace one set 5 pieces if not try re-install toner cartridge twice, check sp mode -toner drop or reset. hope this may help you.

The toner cartridges for the 8026 have a chip on them which count the amount of toner being dispensed from the toner cartridge.
When the printer counts the amount of toner being dispatched from the cartridge has exceeded the amount of "usable" toner in the cartridge, the printer will display the error showing the toner cartridge needs to be replaced.
Crucial the printer also "writes" to the chip on the toner cartridge to say it is empty----You can no longer use this cartridge by simply refilling it.

You need to replace the toner cartridge on the printer with a Genuine New 8026 toner, this should then clear the error automatically and the printer will again spring back to life.

If you are using a new toner you may;

1. Have a faulty replacement toner
2. Have a blockage in the pipe which takes the toner from the toner cartridge to the drum unit
3. Have a fault with the toner dispense motor

rwhen you replace the toner youare putting it in the drum cartridge.the whole black unit gets replaced.lift it up to remove.when you replace it also install a new toner cartridge the drum resevoir will be empty when
new it will need a new toner cart. to fill it now you need to reset the drum counter.push select function

tada! if it now says replace toner open the white cover
over the drum then reclose it a motor will run for about 30 seconds its adding the new toner to the
resevoir you may need to do this about 3 times or until add toner message goes away

When adding toner to the developer unit, it will load from the toner. So, if toner is empty, it will ask for replacement. Normally u can hear noise from the toner when loading.

You must have refilled the first (starter) cartridge or didn't reset the toner reset lever. There is a reset lever on the left side edge of the cartridge. Look at the left end of the cartidge (not the fill cap end) for a round white gear end and a white lever in a hal moon shaped slot. If you can see only the round white gear and the hlf moon is emty of a white lever, it's a non-restting starter. If you have two white spots we will be addressing the one in the half moon slot. The used cartidge will have the lever at the "3 O'clock" position. To reset the cartridge as new you must remove the two screws on that end cap and move the lever to the "11 O'clock" position. Put the scews back in and reinstall in the printer. The sweeper lever will turn in the machine and reset the toner count.

***Important For Brothers**

Make sure when refilling that ALL WASTE TONER is completely cleaned out of the cartridge before adding new toner to it. Brother re-uses its old waste toner and over time the toner hopper gets contaminated with paper dust and too much old toner inside causing them to fail. It you just add toner to the cartridge without thoughly cleaning out, you will soon have a bad cartridge again. You'll see it when dumping out the old as white specks in the toner. That's actually contamination from paper dust and talc from the paper.

As well as adding toner, there is a chip that must be replaced (with the cartridge bottom up, the chip is towards the right side and held in place with two small screws). The chip can be purchased separately but is included with refilling kits that are overall less expensive than buying the parts individually.
