Water is leaking down through what i am calling the vent in the top of the fridge inside and it is building up over a few weeks and then it runs out on the floor.

I have experienced this very same problem before. There is a small condensate drain hole in the rear of the freezer compartment on some model refrigerators. If it ices over, the condensate has no where to go but down through the louvers and into the refrigerator compartment. It usually drips from the center overhead area down on to the shelves and accumulates in the bottom until it runs out the bottom of the door.. One way to tell is to check the back of the refrigerator to see if there is a visible drain line (larger in diameter than the ice make water line) that runs from the freezer compartment down to the compressor area. You may want remove everything and defrost the freezer and see if the problem goes away.

If you have questions/concerns, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: Even if this is a frostless refrigerator, I have experienced the problem where ice can build up and plug the drain. You may have to remove the bottom tray in the freezer to access it.

Kitchen aid KSRG25FKSS04 freezer is not freezing

Hello, few things to check:

1) Remove dirt / dust that has accumulated on the condenser coil located on the back of the fridge, or underneath. Use a vacuum to clean off with.

2) Remove dirt / dust in / around compressor area. Make sure you turn power off first as there are several areas in this area that can "bite."

3) Look for heavy frost / ice buildup in the freezer compartment. Defrost if necessary.

4) Make sure the fan is blowing in the freezer compartment.

5) Make sure there is air flow from the vent at the top of the refrigerator compartment. This air is driven by the fan in the freezer (most models).

6) Loading a lot of unfrozen food into the freezer compartment will have the appearance of the fridge going out, but is actually functioning normally as it removes heat from the food so it will freeze.

7) Your thermostat is not working correctly. Move it to the coldest setting if not already done so. Listen for the compressor to kick on. If it doesn't, bad t-stat.

Thanks

Puddles of water in the fridge

OK that sounds like Ice may be blocking the defrost condensate drain. I will need your model number to help me to identify your model better but can leave you with some information about water leaking inside the freezer or fresh food compartment. Sears use a model number found around your door frame and looks like this for example 312.56989 Be right back with some links, Thanks Sea Breeze

Water accumulating in bottom of kenmore

It's likely the condensate drain is plugged. You can access it from the back of the refrigerator. You can disconnect from the inside of the fridge and blow it out to ensure it is not blocked, then reconnect.
