SOURCE: Bleach and fabric softener dispensers full of water

This is a problem common to virtually all front-loaders. Pull the dispenser drawer right out (it is designed to come right out - you might just need to give it a bit of a jiggle to get it past the stop) Remove the cover/caps from the drawer (sometimes this is a snap-on cover over the back of the drawer, sometimes a top-hat shaped cover over the siphon spigots). Give everything a thorough clean off with hot water (scrubbing with an old toothbrush helps), then reassemble. A.

SOURCE: lg wm1812cw front load washer

We had the same problem- for us it was because we were mixing laundry booster (Oxyclean) with liquid soap in the dispenser. It seems the water running through the tray had insufficient pressure to properly flush the tray out, so residue accumulated on the back & underside of the tray. Our water pressure is good here, and we don't use a water softener or filters that can reduce the pressure. Unfortunately it seems to just be a bad design of the soap dispenser tray.

We also had a problem with water/bleach leaking from our soap dispenser- when we used the bleach compartment in the dispenser we got leaks dripping onto the floor from behind the front cover of the washing machine. It was running down the front of the washer behind the front cover & coming out onto the floor. The repair guy said this was because the dispenser tray was pulled out too far, but the reason we were pulling the soap tray out so far was because the bleach compartment was too far back in the tray to use if we didn't. Now we just leave the drawer partially closed & pour the bleach directly into the soap compartment along with the soap.

SOURCE: LG WM2277HS - water backing up into soap dispenser

The pipe from the soap dispenser to the tub is quite large, it seems as if the water isn't getting out of the dispenser quick enough. Pull the whole dispenser out of the machine. There is a release clip at the back of the cup with the tray fully open. Clean out all soap residue and scum. Sometimes there is also a spot or setting for liquid or powder detergent. Adjust accordingly. Reassemble and try it again.

SOURCE: Water and soap remains in the soap tray

You need to check for blockage in dispenser, remove completely and thoroughly clean every part of it.
Other possibility is not enough water pressure to take all powder down, check water pressure, filters in hoses if fitted..
Check hose from dispenser to drum for restriction.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Electrolux washing machine will not dispense fabric softener

Hello Dawn, I am happy to assist you!

Based on the symptoms you are describing, it sounds like the siphoning mechanism or water valve is clogged up. Scum will build up in the siphon tube and stop the liquid from going into your washer tub. The incoming water will dilute the softener and overflow the dispenser cup and run into the tub. Try removing the soap dispenser drawer and the insert in the dispenser as well for cleaning. Reinsert the drawer once it is clean and dry.

If the abovementioned tips do not resolve your issue, I would recommend having a service technician to accurately diagnose the problem before investing in unnecessary parts.

Best regards!

Liquid soap/softener dispenser remains full of water, primarily on the softener side, AFTER the solutions have been dispensed and the wash cycle has been completed. The dispenser tends to accumulate...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
(pre-typed complete guidance notes!)
This is a common problem with many machines.
I suspect that it is the conditioner/softener tray which is causing water to overflow so it needs a thorough clean,
paying particular attention to the sentences in BOLD ;-0)

Remove the complete drawer. To do this you will have to do one of the following-
  • Top catch- push down the lip/catch at the middle rear and pull the drawer out (that's how our Bosch one is removed)
  • release the catches underneath (our daughter's Indesit) or
  • lift upwards on the tray as it is coming out to clear the lip underneath.
One of those should enable you remove it
Once out identify which tray is for the conditioner- the others are simply 'chutes' and open-ended.
It will normally have some sort of cover over it which you must remove to expose the little stuck up pipe/tube. On some models there is just a small individual cap over the tube. The tube is down which the conditioner and water should siphon. It is likely to be blocked by 'gunge'- a mix of powder and conditioner. The whole of the tray, particularly this pipe and the bit which fits over it, must be completely clean and clear for it to operate correctly. It is worthwhile checking fairly regularly.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Washing machine will not draw fabric conditioner

The Solution: Top up the softener tray with extra water so that it is up to the 'max level' mark.

The softener tray works by a siphon action. Thus, the reason the tray does not empty is that not enough water is added by the machine during the softening cycle, so that the machine does not completely fill the softening tray; only when the softening tray is filled beyond the 'max' mark does the siphon action works. A partially filled tray will never empty - it's impossible due to the siphon.

The reason that not enough water is added to the tray during the softening action is that the water inlet of the machine is partial blocked (you can try to fix that) but it is simpler to just added more water to the conditioner tray.

Thus, the easiest way to ensure that the softener tray empties every time (after adding the softener to the softener tray of course) is to top up the softener tray with extra water, top it up to the 'max level' line (keep a bottle of water by the machine). That way, even if only a little water is added to the softener tray during the softening cycle by the machine it is enough to trigger the siphon action and the tray will empty!

Works for me every time, and no need to remove any parts - I used to take the tray out, clean it, scrub the outlet holes that fill the tray etc, but they used to gum up again quite quickly!

Hope that helps

Detergent tray full of water

Hi....Lift the softener cover off the tray and you will find the syphon tube or the cover underneath are blocked. Push some wire through the syphon tube to make sure it is clear and give everything a good wash.

Bosch Washing Machine Softener Tray not emptying

You need to replace the cold water inlet valve. If the machine is older than one year it may be clogged on the side that moderates the cold water to the bleach and softener compartment. Replacing the valve fixed the problem. During the cycle when the softener dispenser fills it should fill quickly and no or little water should be seen in the soap dispenser area. If a lot of water goes into the soap dispense and little into the softener area the valve is clogged.

Softener tray filling with water

open the dispenser all the way, place your finger towards the back left of dispenser.you should see a tab, depress the tab and pull entire dispenser cup out.the bleach and fab soft part of the disp has a removable tray.clean all pieces out including the long shafts on the insert.you will more than likely find a build up of softener, this breaks the siphon and does not allow the water to drain out.good luck

AEG Lavamat 72640 Front Load Washer

are the holes that spray out the water partially blocked? if so the water will spray out at every angle filling all the tray slots. try popping out the soap tray and cleaning above it with a stiff washing up brush and then reducing the water pressure by turning the tap off a bit.
