Defrost not working on my Viking VCSB483D Refrigerator. Flow Chart says it could be the LV Board. Is there any way to troubleshoot the LV board other then replacing it?

Look for a switch turned off, or if that is not the case, a failed main circuit board.

Drain troth kit with clasp to fix defrost drain port and to program board for conventional defrost to 4 hrs run time. Viking parts dist has that available 8004889868

return air ducts are freezing up in the freezer they are behind the rear wall of the freezer, unplug and defrost these ducts with a blow dryer for now , viking has a duct heater retrofit that will solve your problem, good luck

sounds like a defrost problem, if you have frost on the inside back panel in the freezer then you have a defrost problem bad defrost timer/board or defrost heater or defrost bimetal thermostat. check em all.

It really sounds like the defrost timer is staying on all the time.Have the timer checked.This must be a on going problem with this brand,I am getting a lot of them.So many things could be the problem,but the defrost timer is what really stands out,the defrost timer,does just that,it defrost only a certain short period of time,or it is supposed to.That is how you get frost free.If I can help any more please ask,but have the defrost imer checked ,or replaced.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air
check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.
