I need the part that goes i. This hole so i can put the vent hose on . Where can i get one im in the tacoma Washington area

GASOLINE in the air filter is a serious fuel injection problem....to be honest....I have never heard of such a problem...air goes through the filter into the cylinder where it mixes with gas....to have gas spit back into the air filter.......exhaust valve stuck? Maybe intake manifold is leaking? Gas from the tank goes straight into the cylinder via the fuel injection hose...how does it get into the air filter is really a problem. .

I am having the same issue. I've just replaced the filter and it started leaking out of this hole, where it never had before.
I am thinking that maybe the filter isn't seated properly, and that's causing the leak. But I have attached a picture of the hole in question. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

If you are smelling raw fuel i would check the fuel pressure regulator.Pull the map sensor vacuum hose off and look for fuel in the hose and also look in the air intake pipe for fuel if you see any in either of these two components then replace the fuel pressure regulator.

That is packing materials. It was placed there to protect the vent louvers on the front from breaking during shipping. Apparently, some of them chipped or broke and found their way into the louver section. Simply clean them out. Small pieces can be sucked out with a vacuum that has a hose and crevice tool attachment.

In addition to cleaning the plates on the cartridge, also turn the unit upside down then right side up a few times. There are 2 small wires inside the housing, and each has a ceramic ball on it that cleans the wire when the unit is inverted. Also, look through the vents to make sure the wires are not broken. If they are intact, they run in a straight line, almost the entire length of the unit.

If this does not help or the wire is broken, contact The Sharper Image. I believe this unit has a 5 year warranty. When mine failed, they exchanged it for free, even without a receipt.

After spending hours searching for this supposed little hole easy to miss, I called customer service. I found out that it's easy to miss because it doesn't exist!

Here's the correct answer: Once you've replaced the filters, turn the unit back on. Then, with the machine running, press and hold down the on/off power button for about two seconds. The red light will flash and then turn off.
