Ice maker that fills will water dispensed through refrigerator door.
LG refrigerator GM-L267BVRA ice maker filling when dispersing water through door. Last week one of the plastic lines going to the water filter from the inlet valve split. I ordered new lines and replaced today. I dismounted inlet valve 3 relay type 5221JA2006D to have easier access to hose, replacing them one by one. I did discontent the two plugs for the ice make and dispenser valve relays. I finished routing hoses and reconnected plugs as they were, tabs different sizes so should not have been able to mix them up. Any way, when I dispense water at door, water also flows to the ice maker, causing it to overflow. It also sings and chatters when the water runs, I have good water pressure to inlet valve. I first thought air in lines were causing this, I am now sure air is not issue. So, my thought is that in the few days that I had water shutoff, the inlet valve went bad. Anything else I should check? Any agreement that it is most likely the inlet valve?
Re: Ice maker that fills will water dispensed through...
The valve is probably operated by a celenoid, if you removed it during the hose replacement it may be installed incorrectly, out of line or not have a good ground.

I had that problem and water was also leaking. I tossed the ice and kept the door open for about 20 minutes when the door open alarm started to go off. It's working again. The error code on the door was 1f
it sounds like your water valve is bad. you have a double water valve - one side operates the ice maker and the other side operates the water dispenser. the ice maker side of the valve is bad.
you can manually pour a little water in the ice maker ice mold and wait an hour or so - if it dumps the ice then you know for sure that the ice maker is cycling and water is not getting to the ice maker from the water valved
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.
The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
Colenoid in the ice dispenser may be clogged or have a small amount of trash in it. Is there a filter on before the fridge (just after the ice maker shutoff)?
just bought a brand new side by side with ice and water dispenser i have water coming out of the door dispenser but the ice maker tray is not filling up with water can someone help me
Check to make sure the water supply to the refrig is good and the inlet screen where the water line connects to the refrig is clean. You can change the amount of water fill by pressing the button on the left side of the ice maker. (indicator lights above button show setting) Selecting "Ice Plus" on front of dispenser panel increases ice production for a 24 hour period. Ice maker should produce 6 cubes per cycle, aprox.. 100 to 130 cubes in 24 hours depending on freezer compartment temp, room temp, number of door openings, etc.
It is possible that the water valve behind the refrigerator is either defective or the wire connection is loose. Also check the fill tube where the water comes in and see if there is ice blocking the fill tube. Since it's under warranty, have it serviced by the LG warranty to resolve this issue.
