SOURCE: will not feed full length of label. display reads

You may need to take out the whole ribbon assembly by removing 3 screws. The ribbon sensor looks like a L shaped clear plastic glass.

If still not working. buy the ribbon assembly.

Why is my ribbon tearing?

Ribbon usually gets teared due to the heat of the print head being set to high. Go to MENU MODE / PRINT CONTROL / HEAT and select a heat setting of 12 or 14.

If after the change affects your print quality being poor, your ribbon and label type combination is wrong or your print head needs to be re-aligned.

Hope this helps, good luck. (",)

The machine prints about 12 labels and then prints about 25 empty ones, prints 12 and the pattern repeats. Restarted the computer three times and restarted the printer five times, nothing helped.

Hold in the Feed button for 4-5 seconds, which causes the printer to attempt to "Auto-calibrate." If that doesn't solve it, then slide out the Media Sensor (green plastic bar that sticks out over the labels) about 1 inch from all the way in ("in" = left if looking from front). Then press Feed to clear errors. If still get same error, then look for piece of label or ribbon stuck in that error - ok to blow out with canned air. Then try holding in Feed again for 4-5 seconds to Auto-calibrate again.

We use the Datamax Printer to print labels with labelview. The printer itself however keeps saying :position fault" how do I fix that?

Position fault or Out of stock when the printer is loaded with paper stock can usually be solved by calibrating the printer.

Press & hold the FEED button. Let the printer cycle 8-10 times. Should feed to the right position and say Calibration Complete in the window.

Hope this solves your problem.

Display reads ready, but when print is press the labels run but nothing is printed on the labels.

Is your label "direct thermal"? or using a ribbon to print.

If using ribbon, high probability that you install the ribbon the other way around.

Datamax i - 4208

If you use ms-access you must have installed the windows driver, therefore you must enable the cutter in the printer properties. Position fault is that it does not detect the label, must be press the FEED key or to calibrate, press the FEED key for 5 seconds to calibrate the sensor label.
