hi, have you tried a soft reset?
load battery for minimum two hours, reset your device on resetbutton on the bottomside of tomtom with small pin.
press on/off button for minimum 5 seconds.

There is a tendency that the unit is not properly charge try to charge the unit for 3 to 4 hours by using a wall adapter and after 4 hrs press and hold the power button for 10 seconds then release.
Try to press and hold the power botton for 10 sec and then power on it again if still not work try the hard reset press the reset button for 15 sec and if there is a latest firmware update download it.
Connect your TomTom to the USB cable then turn on your TomTom in that order. Go to "My Computer" and open the drive that is your TomTom. Copy and paste your map folder to the desktop. Delete everything on your TomTom (don't format). After deleting everything on your TomTom. Open TomTom Home. TomTom Home will tell you, you need an application for your TomTom. Let TomTom Home load the application. You will probably have to do this at least 2 times to get the latest application for your device. After TomTom Home has loaded the latest application for your device closer TomTom Home and copy and paste your map back onto your TomTom. You should be ready to go after doing this. Make sure you do not skip a step when doing this.
