I am trying to change the battery for this watch and it doesn't seem to be any of the three of the most common types. Am I missing something on opening this watch, or what type of watch is this? Thanks.

Changing Watch Batteries
Lots of posters ask "what is the battery in my (name of watch)" with a view to changing it yourself. This is a bad idea for many reasons. You don't have the tools or knowledge to remove a rotary screw on back, or the gasket sealant for a waterproof watch. Some fashion watches have 4 traditional screw and need professional grade jeweler screwdrivers. Also, there are about 20 batteries commonly used in watches, in various sizes and internal technology, Lithium Ion, Silver Oxide and Manganese Alkaline. If you buy them, you generally have to buy 10!
Don't sweat the details. Just take the watch to your local jeweler. They have all the batteries at hand and the tools to remove the back. It is done whilst you wait for $8 to $15!

For a quality watch like that I would recommend using a specialist watch repairer as they can reseal the watch to be water tight after the battery is replaced.
Could you possibly comment below with a photo of the back of the watch?
There are three main types of watch back plate. Push fit, screw down and screw on.
Push fit is usually a smooth back cover with No notches or grooves. These can be gently levered off to replace the battery then pushed down to 'click' back into place. Some have a slight notch on the body or back plate to make removal easier.
Screw down back plates have dimples or notches at regular places around the edge. This is to allow grip to unscrew the whole back plate. Some versions need a specialist tool to unscrew them.
Screw on plates use four tiny screws to hold the back plate down. These are more commonly used on 'Sports' or digital watches.

when you look at the back are there three small rectangular indents
evenly spaced on the edge on the back? If so you'll need a special tool
for opening waterproof watches. the tool adjusts to fit the three
indents then press down as you turn counterclockwise. you can find the
tool on amazon.com or your local jewelry store. make sure the gasket is
in place and not damaged before screwing the back on.
here is a link to the tool http://www.amazon.com/Pavilion-Professional-Waterproof-Adjustments-Caseback/dp/B000K3SK0Y
the type f battery will be written on the battery and you can usually find them at a drug store, hardware store or jewelry store that sells watches.
good morning ! if your watch is waterfroop design that`s have a tread so if you want to open the case back you need a wrench or opener, but if your watch is snop in design you need a knife to open the case back, and change the battery, thank you,
