My Plasma TV is powered on and in stand-by mode (LED is red). When I use the remote or the front panel power switch to turn on the video, the LED turns green for less than a second, then goes back to red (back to stand-by). It may come on after trying the switch 25-50 times. Other times, I've had success by unplugging the TV for 2-5 seconds (waiting until I hear a click), then plugging the TV back in and it will turn on.

You either have the power supply module or back lights inverter board problem, need to narrow it down.

Most likely the power supply capacitors are going bad.
Opening the TV and replacing any swollen caps may solve your issue.
