These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. The power light is just blinking red on my panasonic 1080i hdtv. cant even switch it off using the power button. picture and sound come on for about a second when the tv is switched on after power cord...

The power light keeps flashing and the tv won't turn on. If you unplug for a minute and hit the power button it sound like it is coming on then it shuts off and the red power light flashes slowly. The TV is a Panisonic 1080i HDTV, about 6-7 years old.

Is the light blinking constantly or is there a long pause then more blinking. If constant check the lamp door switch . Usually it is broken or jammed. If you jumper it and the set comes on that it. 4 blinks is bad fan.

Modem keeps blinking a red light then turns to a green and red light

If you are referring to power light, blinking light specially if red indicates hardware damage. powering down the modem for a minute and powering it back on normally stabilizes it but if not normally it needs replacement.
