How do I hook up Emerson combo to Insignia TV?

I have a pansonic tv, End a toshiba vcr/dvd combo , the only way i could get the dvd to work, Was buy hooking up a vidio switcher box,

Use output of combo player to input of TV. Use what ever available input you have left on you TV. HDMI or Component input is best, but others will work.

I have an Emerson Combo Model EWC19T3 and a Emerson DVD/Vidio remote that is not working. I desire it to turn on and off the TV, raise and lower the volume and go to mute.
