HOW TO RESET LAMP HOUR OF LG PROJECTOR MODEL BX-401C

Try this, it works on older LG TV models:

Put the projector on. While holding down the Menu key on the projector, press and hold down the Menu button on the remote. Keep both buttons pressed for a count of at least 5 seconds.

When the Service Menu pops up, release the Menu button on the remote control first and then the one on the projector after.

Now you're in to the service menu, you need to find out which button on the remote brings up the Lamp Timer Reset function. This is where you're going to have to do a bit of trial and error. With the TVs, the remote button was the Mute key. There isn't a Mute key on the projector remote, so try the Lamp key first. If that doesn't work then try some other buttons. Here's the method.

While holding down the Enter/OK on the projector, press and hold the Lamp key for five second. If this works then the lamp timer reset box should appear. Release the remote button first, followed by the unit button.

Press Enter/OK on the remote to reset the lamp timer. If there's an On Screen Prompt to confirm, press Enter again.

Press Exit on the remote to come out of the menus.

Warning: Don't reset or change any other functions. The service menu isn't the place to be tinkering around with stuff you don't understand.

Lamp Reset Procedure for Samsung Televisions.

You have replaced your lamp and the set is working fine but the 'replace lamp light' is still on or the lamp light is blinking. What do you do?

This is an important procedure because you need to know when it is time to replace the lamp again. If you do not reset the timer you may run the risk of having the lamp explode, because it was not replaced in time. This can be dangerous and could cause a fire.

Manufacturers have lamp timers built in to their TVs so that when it gets close to time to replaced the lamp you are made aware of this and if you heed the warning you may save money by not damaging other components such as the ballast. If you do not heed the warning, you are on your own and deserve whatever happens.

To reset first make sure the TV is powered off.

1) Point your remote towards your TV.

2) Press MUTE + 1 + 8 + 2 + Power.

3) Your TV should now say "Loading Factory".

4) Browse down to "Option" then press ENTER (or the right cursor button).

Note: The MUTE + 1 + 8 + 2 buttons need to be pressed down consecutively and fairly quickly. If your TV does not enter the service menu after using this combination, you can substitute MENU instead of MUTE. This seems to work for some sets. Also, the right cursor arrow acts as the ENTER button, so try it if you're having difficulty with the ENTER button.

5) To exit the service menu press the EXIT button or just turn the TV off. Do not turn on the TV immediately after. Let it off for several minutes.

This should reset your counter and you will be ready to enjoy your TV for about another 8000 hours.

I replaced the lamp on my Samsung HLS5086WX/XAA DLP set. How do I reset the timer on the lamp?

I have a Samsung DLP HLN617WX/XAA. After turning off by itself, the three indicator lights were blinking... signifying a defective lamp. I've re-seated the old lamp several times with no change. I bought a new lamp and reset the lamp hours through the "service menu" with no change. My television is still turning itself off and still blinking the same indicator lights. What should I look at, next?

Lamp Indicator is Orange

Press 'Enter' on the TV then press 'Mute' on the remote while holding 'Enter' down. A menu will pop up on the screen, allowing you to reset the light. It's also worth noting that you can get to the service menu by pressing 'Menu' on the remote and TV at the same time. There is an option for checking the number of hours on the lamp.
