Sounds like the laser pickup unit has damaged. Replacing this part to Blu-ray players is a very skilled work. It will be best to contact any experienced service technician to replace and to align it.

Try this out; Go to your DVD player's settings/setup menu, find the "Disc Lock", set it to "off" if it is already set to "on"

The only reason why its giving you the error is because the player cannot read the DVD , the cause for that are the DVD is bad, so try a different DVD and check if it will play if it did play the first DVD is really bad, But if it still did not read a different DVD in means the lens of the player can be dirty or bad, try to run a CD cleaner to clean the lesn of the player if still the same the lens may need a replacemnet already..

I was able to fix the problem by buying a disc lens cleaner at an electronics store and allowing it to "play" for 1-2 minutes. Was also told you could possibly clean the laser-reader with a cotton swab soaked with rubbing alcohol. Otherwise the laser-reader may be bad or out of alignment.
