You must live in a "shadow". Not every area can get cell reception. I have the same problem. No cell reception at my home, but 1/4 mile up the street, it's fine.
Hi, Are they the same models? The phone's capability to sustain a stable network coverage may vary even in model types. While at your home, remove the phone's battery and simcard and fit them again. Note how the phone's network signal registers. It may start very high and then drop drasticaly to very low or no signal at all or sustain a constant signal reception. If the reception's good in other areas, then your home area's network coverage may not be that good.
The 3G icon appears only when you are in 3G reception area and you are receiving 3G signal. Ensure that you are in the 3G reception area and signal is received .some areas there may be weak signal it may also cause to select Gsm mode
i have the same phone and carrier. mine is at full bars all the time. i did call t-mobile and the sent it codes to get the MMS and internet working properly. this might be the reason for my reception. it won't hurt to call them so they can configure your phone to t-mobile service.
good luck
First remove the Simcard from the phone, test the SIM card on a different phone, and see if you get same reception problem in the office.
If the problem depends on the phone, then internal aerial contact is broken, get a replacement phone .
If problem depends on the SIM , then call the phone company, it may be a network problemt, or a reception problem because this company has poor field in the office area.
Improve reception in areas of your home or office where a weak signal is present
