I have the same exact issue. I just replaced the "Power/LED" board and that did not fix my problem. I need help with the LED driver board myself or some advice on power to my LED's because they are not lighting up.I have the same exact issue. If the backlight LED burns out ONE of the many that are present, The power supply notices the change in current and shuts down. You can either check all the LEDS on the strips and find the one that is bad or you can order new strips.
Chances are your T-con may be bad . I would check the backlight by shining a flashlight by the screen to look for an image on the screen . If an image is present, then the backlight is the problem. Your Tcon and main board could be ruled out, if this is the case . At this point check the power board for voltage to the led driver. The leds could have issues.
Shine a light on screen with TV playing and if you can see some video you have either a bad LED driver circuit on Power Supply or a bad LED strip in the backlight. If bad LED Backlight it's a very complicated and time consuming repair. FYI the Model# is probably XBR75X940D.
You have at least one shorted LED in the panel, reason it works with the main disconnected is your removing shutdown circuitry, don't run it this way for any longer than necessary when looking for the faulty lamps..Also be really gentle with the panel and flat cables going to the TCON board, they can be damaged quite easily and if that happens the set is junk..good luck!!
Sounds like backlight is dead. Shine flashlight on screen. Can you see video slightly. Replace inverter or some sets have inverter as part of power board. If led set replace led driver board. Also that may be part of power board.
