Replace the convergence ICs. you will need two of them. They are located on a large aluminum heat sink with STK numbers. They cost about 10.00 each. They need to be soldered in. Its an easy repair if you can solder. Let me know if you need any additional info.

SOURCE: sony xbr-52in projection tv show double picture's

It sounds like a convergence problem. A fairly common reason for thisproblem is the convergence chips have failed. They are usually referredto as "STK" chips since the model number of these chips start with STK.I will put a link to another part of this site where someone has postedpictures and a link where to get the parts should you decide to fix ityourself. Look at Ecullier2012's posting. Jean's posted site will notfix this problem. Hope this helps you out. Let me know.

Tmtmail.co.ukmy samsung projection tv has double vision and i dont know how to amend the lens can yu please help thank you

double vision in a rear projection tv has several reasons. one is convergence magnets are out of tune. u need to tune them which is back side of picture tubes. u please observe that which color is producing the double vision. the lens are firmly fixed & therefore need not to adjust. other option is to adjust the convergence of tv by going to service mode by remote.

We recently moved the tv and now when we turn it on it has double vision. It kinda looks like a 3d movie. What could be the issue? Is it worth fixing?

Hi,
If tv picture was fine before moved then check dry/ cold solder joints/ connections on convergence output ICs and nearby circuit area.
Local tv repairman will resolder loose/ dry solder connections to solve double vision picture problem.
TV worth fixing if picture is good.
Thanks.

We have a Sony KP-43HT20 Projection set that is showing a red or sometimes green shadow or double vision effect can any one help .Should we fix it or buy a new TV

The projection IC's are bad. You can't do this yourself and would probably cost $300 - $400 for a tech to do it. Start shopping.

Double vision on tv with purple and green colors

Hello,

This television set, as well as most rear-projections, is prone to convergence driver problems. There are two large chips (STK392-110's) in the TV that need to be replaced, as well as some resistors that are likely damaged as well. Any competent TV repair shops should be able to repair this TV for 200-300 dollars. It is important to note that if the back of the TV is taken off without the proper prep., the Digital input (DVI) will be disabled permanently.

Hope this helps you...

Phillips 60" projection TV Double vision

This is a convergence problem and is either bad connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder, you can repair this yourself. Let me know if you wish to repair this and I can provide you with additional details.

Too much red + double vision viewing

This seems to be a convergence failure on your TV.
If you have hand basic soldering skills and a soldering iron, this might be something you can do.
Check this link for the parts you need.
Goo Luck.
