The most common problem would be the headphone cable, particularly at the plug end. If they work fine on other systems, the next place to check is for a dirty headphone jack. Next a dirty/defective headphout out pot or cold solder joints where the pot or jack connects to the circuit board.

SOURCE: HOW TO WIRE GEMINI GRAPHIC EQ 3000 TO behringer djx750 proffessional MIXER

Line level output of the mixer would go into the line level inputs of the EQ, and the EQ line level outpputs to the line level inputs of the amplifier. If you are faced with a mix of unbalanced inputs or outputs, to balanced inputs or outputs it gets a little complicated because you need to matrix the balanced signal to unbalanced load and vice versa. There is no single answer to doing this either.

RCA jacks are unbalanced, 2 conductor 1/4 inch connections are unbalanced most of the time. XLR and 3 conductor 1/4 inch jacks and plugs can be either balanced or unbalanced. If either are wired so left and right are a single ring or tip on the 3 conductor 1/4 inch jack, it is unbalanced and they would share a common ground lead. XLR wired with one pin common with shield and right and left have a single conductor on the plug or jack, that is unbalanced.

Audio from Laptop to Behringer mixer plays for a few seconds and cuts out.

See if another audio source connected to the mixer produces the same results. Try with the same cable and then with another cable. The purpose of this procedure is to determine if it is the cable and/or the laptop. (Sound card problem???) or mixer.
Is it ALL audio or just specific audio from for instance, a music application? Does it cut out using iTunes?
The mixer may have a bad or oxidized input. Try a different input channel? Are you using headphones to listen? It may be the headphone amp? OR, if audio is produced via amped speakers, it may be the mixer output. Does the mixer have metering? Do the meters also cut out? Does the laptop do the same thing if plugging in headphones to the laptop directly (no mixer)?

Can't hear playback through Headphone socket, only through speaker monitors!

i suggest you contact Behringer Customer Service for advixce. Without the setup in front of me, it's hard to figure out the wire routeing, switch positions, ect. that may be leading to this problem. As they would be the people most familiar with the gear, they'sd be the people to ask. http://www.music-group.com/support/behringer/askquestion

Djx 750 - no power - transformer dead?

Actually, you may be in luck. A burned cap means that it has done exactly what it's supposed to do. So...you might stick an identical one in there -- it's a 0.1 uF cap, and you can find these at Radio Shack (0.1 uF 50V) or online. They are cheap, so give it a shot.

Im thinking about buying a djx750 and have rokit 5 monitors. would this work? what is the best way to connect them, to have good sound? it is just for a home dj setup, all on one desk, two cd decks,...

Here is alink to the manual:http://www.behringer.com/EN/downloads/pdf/DJX750_P0956_M_EN.pdf You should have no problems hooking them up (RCA to RCA). I've been using a Behringer XenyX1222FX board in my recording system for about 4 years now and have been quite satisfied with it's reliability. Try to find a dealer who will demo the mixer for you.

Amps ? stereo intergrated amps ?

Since the mixer has a line level output, yes you can use a home stereo for the "AMP". Use the AUX IN, TAPE IN or CD IN on the stereo and connect the speakers as you normally would.
