If all u have is a screw on connector u will have to get a RCA converter which the round connector hooks on to and the Sat will plug into it and set the channel button on the converter to what the TV is.

Be sure you are hooking up the Audio Output from the TV or satellite to the soundbar.
From the satellite box both Audio Output and Video Output go to the TV, and then Audio Output from the TV goes to the soundbar. Or From the satellite box Video Output goes to the TV and Audio Output goes to the soundbar.
Most TVs don't have a built-in satellite receiver. You'll need to buy and install a suitable satellite receiver box for the signals that your dish is capable of receiving. The dish connects to the satellite receiver. Then the sat receiver connects to the TV via either AV cables or HDMI. Hope this helps.
For surround sound, you need an A/V receiver with 5.1 or 7.1 surround capability. Depending on what kind of receiver you have, the DVD player, satellite/cable box, etc hooks to the receiver, those signals go out to the TV, and the speakers hook to the receiver. The receiver decodes the signal from the cable/satellite box or DVD player and routes it to the appropriate speakers. If the TV program or DVD isn't HD or coded for surround sound, the best you can expect is 2.1 channel stereo sound. OR, you can hook everything (DVD, satellite/cable box) to the TV and run an optical cable from the Digital Output of the TV to the receiver, which is basically the same thing, just a different way to hook everything up. I think I see what happened here. Normally you have the tv cable connected to one connector and satellite or others to different connectors. When you want to switch you use your remote or the tv controls to change the source.This will preserve the scanned channels as well. On your remote you should see source or something like that. As you select it it should shows options like antenna, cable aux1 aux2 and so on.
So hook your tv up and rescan your channels. Then hook up the satellite to one of the other inputs. Then use the remote to switch the source. You will never see more than one sateliitel channel at a time and you will have to use the satellite remote to change channels on the satellite box.
most stores sell both adapters needed to hook up dvd or any type of electronic equipment buy a a/b switch so u can switch from dvd to [cable or satellite] then buy coaxle adapter which has 3 wire hook up to coaxle for tv [rca $10 ] and coaxle wire. connection wire a or b from dvd to adapter and other from a or b to cable/satellite other end of a/ b goes to tv slide switch to watch dvd and slide back for reg tv
I should be channel 3 or 4. This assumes that this coax cable is coming out as a TV R.F. connection of a Dish Network Box (Satellite Receiver) intended for direct connection to an old fashioned NTSC (channels 2-13, 14-83, possibly even has cable channels depending on how old?) TV.
If this coax is the output of a coax going directly to the Satellite Dish or through what might might look to you like some kind of fancy splitter (called a Multi-Switch) the you WOULD NOT want to hook that to your old NTSC tv. The frequency is too high ... etc. etc... you would need Dish Box (as you call it) a.k.a. a Satellite receiver - with a good and active satellite card from your provider.
Take the output of the Satellite box to the "In from antenna" or "in from cable" then out to TV from the VCR to the TV. TV should either be on 3 or 4 depending on what the satellite box is set for
Typically, there is no video out from TV. You would have to connect the satellite receiver output to the DVD recorder input and connect the DVD recorder output to the TV. Word of warning - digital signals (DTV coax or HDMI) from the satellite receiver carry copyright info embedded, which may limit what it will allow you to put on a DVD. Typically anything can be recorded on the hard drive of the recorder, but programs from subscription channels may not go to a DVD.
you can do it multiple ways. like putting the cords into the dvd then putting the dvd cords into the tv, or put it into the tv, or hook it up to satilitte and hooking up to the tv. your choice.
