Washer stops at the same point every time which is after it fills with water. After several hours it will then restart. Do you know what the problem might be? Thank You

Hi.

There are different faults that result in machine stopping mid cycle, hanging or not completing the cycle. Thermostat and element, pressure switch, balance switch, control module, door switch and motor must be tested. Common faults when machine stops mid cycle always at same time concern pressure switch and heating system. Some are described here (I know your machine properly stops and does not hang like the one in example): Washing machine takes a long time to end cycle.

To know what the problem is you need to run a test cycle. Instructions on how to run a test cycle are described in the tech sheet that is normally placed inside the machine. The tech sheet is usually tucked in an envelope hidden inside the control panel. It is necessary to remove the control panel held by screw to see if the document is still there. Power must be disconnected first.

Regards.

My washer stops in the middle of the cycle and displays F-1 and after I have to set it on the rinse / drain cycle to complete. Today for the first time it also displayed 5d at the end of the cycle.

5d or Sd means too much detergent was used. Try the following

Run the unit through a RINSE/SPIN cycle.
Run a NORMAL cycle without adding any detergent.

This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.

Trying to program a remote, but it doesn't work.  i followed the instructions turned the key from off to on 8 times and left it at on, but the locks did nothing. can you help?

WHAT FOLLOWS IS THE CORRECT PROCEDURE, REMEMBER YOU MUST COMPLETE THE 8 KEY CYCLES IN LESS THAN 10 SECONDS, IF YOU DO IT RIGHT THE POWER LOCKS WILL GO UP AND DOWN TO INDICATE IT IS READY FOR PROGRAMMING.

1. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in
RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode.

2. Within 20 seconds press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will cycle
to confirm programming.

3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks will
cycle again to confirm programming.

4. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

NEFF S5456 DISHWASHER

Have you tried it on a different program? I have nearly always used the AUTO program - however i have used the 50 degree program 3 times now and it completes the (much longer) wash without sticking on one minute. Will try it on auto again to see what happens. I found it useful to turn the end-of-wash buzzer on (to loud) to remind me when (if) it completes the program.
