  • Anonymous Oct 29, 2008

It plugs and plays on my notebook running Vista, but not my desktop running Vista.  I can't find a driver anywhere.   I have NERO, which does not see the camera either.  JVC Support is TERRIBLE - if you do not have this camera, I recommend another brand solely because JVC support will not help you out if you have a problem.
I do not have my original CD - but if anyone knows how I can get the drivers, I sure would appreciate it.  JVC wants a $30.00 and I'm not giving it to them for drivers that I already paid for once.

I know it's been 2 years since you posted this.....but our movers destroyed several of my CD's!! Including the installation disk for my gz-mg130u!! It's passed the time for me to put a claim in. (I still can't figure out HOW they did this)
If you are still willing, can you possibly make me a copy? What would you charge? I live in OH.
    Thanks in advance!

  • adriennejone Jan 02, 2011

My CD was somehow lost in our move (along with several others). When our computer crashed the info was lost. I would really love your help with the CD. I want to upload my daughters birthday party.
If you are willing I could really use a copy of the disc.

  • strangefire Jan 11, 2011

Is there a way you could zip the cd and email it to me? I just bought my 130u a few weeks ago but it did not have a disk and I can't download my stuff off of it and my hard drive is nearly full and JVC is of no help. If so my email is [email protected] Thank you very much!

  • Deb Draper Mar 22, 2011

I've tried everything. If it is still available could you copy the disc or email it to me I would be very appreciative. My email is [email protected] Thanks!

  • Anonymous Apr 08, 2012

hi, can you put in dropbox an iso of the disc? email me at [email protected] and I will then make the software public through a link, so you will not get hassled for a copy again.

  • Anonymous Apr 08, 2012

can you create ISO of the disc or copy the files? Then I can put it onto a cloud server (i.e dropbox) and make it public and then this issue can be put to rest. Email me [email protected]

  • Anonymous Sep 02, 2012

I called JVC as I have Windows Vista and the CD did not work on my computer. The Tech Support advised I don't need disc plug camcorder into the USB and use Windows Movie Maker. Click "Import Media" Then click on "Computer". Then click the one that says "everio". Now click "SD_VIDEO", then "PRG001"
Now at the bottom of that box it should have an Import and a Cancel. Right above them is a drop down box. Click on it and change it to say "All Files". Now just click on the clips you want to download.

I hope it helps. I've spent more time on the phone with tech support than I have playing on my new computer!

Plugged camera into PC (usb). Auto play window pops up. Chose "import pictures". All pictures and video files were imported. Then had to copy and paste into movie maker. Movie maker could not find the camera.

A long way to get to where I wanted, but it worked. If anyone has a shorter or quicker solution, please post.

Windows Vista, lost disc.

ON MAC plug in the camera, open iMovie, and the camera will be detected immediately by iMovie...PROCEED! (couldn't be easier, although I must admit I did cycle through trying many other ways before I even thought about using iMovie...)

For a mac, connect the camera, find the cameras harddrive on the desktop, go into the SD_VIDEO file, then into the other files, where there are movie clips saved, then drag those onto your computer, when finished use the program isquint to convert them into mp4

you can find isquint here http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/19769

I losy my CD, too. I called JVC and they sent me another one. I had to pay $40 and wait two months, but I got it. Customer service claimed the CD was on backorder. I am perplexed why they would charge so much for a replacement CD ROM. Does not inspire my future business.

The disc works fine with my Vista computer.

Regarding the MOD format, it is indeed a pain. I want to work in Adobe Premeir Pro but it doesn't recognize MOD files even if I rename them MP2's. Someone wrote that the files can be loaded into Power Director, the program on the JVC CD ROM and then bounced down to an MP2 or AVI, WMA, etc, and then you can work with this one long file in another movie-making program. Good advice, it works.

Just found out a very easy way. If you have a mac, download and purchase VISUAL HUB. You can convert most any type of video file format into the format you want. Just started converting a lot of MOD files from a JVC Hard Drive camcorder and it is working flawlessly. The purchase of VISUAL HUB is worth it's weight in gold.

I have Nero 8 full version. It works perfectly. Go to capture or edit video then go to "make movie" or capture video to hard drive then browse folders in my computer and open everio and let the games begin.

Write the company with the serial number of your camcorder and they will send you a new one. If you can not supply the serial number then you are bogus (not real) a phony, fake.

Lost disk, new computer, how do I download from my JVC GZ-MG130U?

Have you tried the cord from your camera to your computer's usb port? It should be recognized by the computer, allowing you to transfer your videos to a folder. The camera has a built in memory, so you have to use a cord to transfer the movies and pics.

I have a JVC gz-mg130u HD camcorder that willnot work in Vista

The short answer is that unless JVC have released a firmware upgrade to this model, currently its not support for use on vista.

You can try here though, for some upgrade info,
