I've tried searching the menu on the printer for the IP address.
If you cannot find it on the printer, your next best option is to log into your internet router if you have one and check the assigned addresses in the DHCP list.
Testimonial: "Thanks, how can I do that?"
Open your web browser and in the address bar you can try the two following addresses which by default will usually bring you to the login page of your router- 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. It might be something else in which case you will have to determine it by doing the following: Press and hold the windows key and then press "R". In the box the opens type the command "CMD" and press enter. In the black window that opens type "IPCONFIG /ALL" and press enter. Find the default gateway address and that should be your router. Type that series of numbers in to your web browser address bar and that will bring you to the login screen of your router. If you do not know the user name and password you are going to have to either hope it is the default. Most common user name is either "admin" or "administrator" most commond default passwords are "password" or "admin". If you are still stuck you may need to contact your internet provider to get access. Once you have access look for an option labelled DHCP or Address list which will show you the IP adresses for any devices connected to the router. I am suprised that the CAnon software does not find the printer automatically.
It's working! Thank you so much!
