Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
Getting a suds or f35 error when attempting to use machine
Maybe this will help, but I'm not sure
SUDS LOCK (Overdose of Detergent detected during the Wash Cycle)
The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If "Sud" is displayed a potential suds lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds.
If too much detergent was used, run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle, then a Normal cycle, without adding any detergent. This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
Check Wire Harness connectors to the Drain Pump, Pressure Switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
Check/Clean Drain Pump Filter of foreign objects

Sud= The unit has sensed there is too many suds in the unit it will
flush and pump out for 5 min and restart on its own..This is caused by
too much soap use..
From the book :
If too much detergent was used:
—Run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle.
—Run a Normal cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump,
pressure switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU).
4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check drain pump.
7. Check the pressure switch.
8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any

F35 has to do with the pressure switch which is located under the top panel on the back right. It will have a little black hose hooked to it. This happens when SUDS or detergent somehow gets up into it and usually locks unit out. Only solution is to replace pressure switch. You can find the tech sheet behind the bottom front panel usually tape to the back side of that panel or taped to the bottom right side inside unit. Hope this helps

I too have a Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer that is just 13 months old and had this same problem. If you have searched the internet about this you have probably noticed that there are quite a few people out there with the same problem. It is the analog pressure sensor switch. I was lucky enough to find one that I received last Friday. It is an easy fix if you're not afraid to attempt it yourself.....the problem you will probably have is finding the part. I searched several parts stores and everyone had them on a 3 to 4 week backorder, but I got lucky and found ONE in stock. If you remove the top of the washer by removing the 3 screws that hold it on in the back and sliding it off, you can see the pressure switch on the right/rear side of the washer. To remove the switch you have to remove the wires that plug into the switch and then turn the switch and pop it out of the side...the replacement just snaps back in the same way. My husband replaced the switch in probably less than 5 minutes and my washer is back up and running. Good luck finding the part (W10156252). I did write a letter to Whirlpool stating that this seems to be an on-going problem with these washers and that if they cannot reimburse the consumer in some way, the least they could do is make this part more readily accessible. Good luck.

SOURCE: error code F35 and SUD
Just tilt the washer back and prop it up with some wood blocks. Three screws are right on the front at the very bottom. Use a 9/32 socket to remove them. The front cover slides right off. The drain trapclean out is right in the middle. Turn the large white knob counter-clockwise to remove it and clean.
Thank you !!

I got the f35 and suds code repeatedly and my clothes weren't washed, I ordered from Sears the analog pressure switch that regulates the water coming into the washer and the codes went away, the part is esitmately $125.00 including shipping but you have to order from the Sears parts department. If you print a diagram of the washer it is #38 in the diagram and is easy to replace. You can install it yourself and as a female I did not call service to do it.

Tips for a great answer:
Hello & Welcome to FixYa
F35 error means that there is some sort of issue with the steamer electronic board and analog pressure sensor has gone bad. Check that the hose is firmly attached with the washer and is not blocked. You can also check the water level pressure switch operation. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
