Hi,if it is leaking and lets say its a small hole rather than a leak from a joint,there are loudes of fix leak items on the market,one that I have used in the past that I feel works well is a sort of putty mix,which you nead in your hand then apply it to the part that you want to stop leaking.
you will find the stuff on e-bay.
just type in something like stop leak putty.

tell the meter reader or call water company or have someone help you fix the leak your doctor cant fix a water leak

If pipes are leaking, then that can be repaired.
If tank is rusted out and water escaping from the tank, then turn off the water plus power to the heater for safety, and then replace water heater.
Rusted water heater can be welded for repair, but remember that hot water is under pressure and tank can rupture any time.
Safest course if to replace heater.

You need to clean the separator.

If water is leaking from a pipe. then replace or repair the pipe or fitting. If the leak is coming from the unit itself, then replace the unit. Hope this helps.
