The key to the right of the spacebar with the "X" printed on it is the correction button. You just place the carrier on the character to the right of the wrong one and hit the corr. button. The carrier should automatically back up and and remove the incorrect character and if you hold the key down it will continue to back up and remove characters. then you just type in the right one(s). Of course you have to have good "correctable" ribbon and correction tape cartridges installed. If the tapes are old you may have to advance them by typing and correcting or by manually advancing them before they will work. If the correction doesn't remove all the ink from the paper you may have a bad ribbon and/or correction tape.

I just bought a used fl18 from a friend and I had 2 ?'s first I would like to know what the BL,AZ,LP.NORM,BL,AZ on the mode switch mean and how do I use it allso, what do the yellow numbers on the inside...

The left side should be the "low power" mode otherwise known as "LP". The low power mode lets you run longer but the power output is less which may cause you to "pick up" less activity under your transducer. The "BL" stands for "bottom lock" which allows you to keep a steady view of the bottom while your transducer is in motion. That feature is usually used during open water situtations: choppy water. The "AZ" feature is the "auto zoom". This allows you to zoom into the last few feet on the bottom. If i remember correctly its the last 6' feet. If not then its 12'. The zoom feature helps with fish and lure sepperation especially in deer water since your display adjusts as you dial into deeper water. The dials on your unit correspond to your depth settings. The white scale is used mainly for shallow water and the yellow scale is used for deep water. For example: your dial is set at X1 on white. Take the white scale on your screen and multiply that by 1 and you have your depth. If your dial is set on X2 white then multiply your scale by 2. Same goes for the yellow. I know its been almost 2 years since the question was asked but i hope that someone who has the same question can find the answer here.

Atwood rv water heater model G6A-8E heats water to warm only then run cold

Normal causes for that would be by-pass valve not in proper position, or defective, allowing cold to mix with hot, or thermostat not touching up against tank properly, or defective. Do you know where that thermostat is?
Look where the black foam cover is, with white letters, below pressure relief valve. One is lettered ECO, other THERM. If you note where the wires go, so as not to mix them up , and pull them off, then peel back the foam cover, you'll see 2 little round discs, that are held against the tank by a small spring. They need to be checked that they are in there properly and are up against the aluminum tank.

My HP 6100 series all in one wants to align cartridge

This document explains the different results obtained when using or not using the Automatic Reduction (or Auto Reduction) Feature. The following issues usually result when the Automatic Reduction feature is not set correctly:
  • Faxes printing too small
  • Faxes printing on more than one page
  • A blank page ejecting between each printed fax page
This feature can be turned ON (the default) or OFF from the Advanced Fax Features menu. The two main purposes of the Auto Reduction feature
  • Fits a received fax page onto the paper size loaded in the paper tray and selected in the paper size setting of the Basic Fax Setup. For example; if letter size paper is loaded in the paper tray and selected in the fax settings and a legal size document is received, each page will be reduced and printed on one letter sized paper.
  • Allows the addition of the fax header margin at the top of every printed fax without extending the fax onto another page. The fax header is printed at the top of every fax received with identifying information about the fax sender. Since this increases the overall page length, the page must be reduced to fit onto one page. Auto reduction slightly shrinks the fax as it is received so the entire page will print on one piece of paper even though a top margin is allowed for the fax header.

White Balance

What is White Balance? The human eye captures white as white, red as red and blue as blue, regardless of whether you are outside under the sun or inside under incandescent lighting. Although this is something that we take for granted, the human eye actually adapts to correct the changes in color under different light sources. In reality, when light sources vary, colors caught as the reflection of those light sources also vary. For instance, films for cameras that use film are designed to capture the most appropriate coloring outside under the sun. Thus when you take pictures under incandescent or fluorescent lighting without using a flash, the colors in the resulting picture may seem strange. Digital camera and digital camcorders are equipped with a handy feature called "White Balance" that corrects the changes in color under different light sources, just like the human eye. One of the white balance settings, "Auto White Balance" (AWB) automatically adjusts to correct the changes in color under different light sources. White Balance and Coloring The White Balance feature on Canon digital cameras and camcorders is set to "Auto White Balance" at the time of purchase. If you prefer different coloring, if you want to adjust the coloring more in detail, or if you want to change the coloring on purpose, we recommend that you change the white balance setting.
