How to replace the WASH CYCLE SELECTOR KNOB - on an Ariston AV 105 Washing Machine

Replacing the wash cycle selector knob on an Ariston AV 105 washing machine can be done with the following steps:
  1. Turn off the washing machine and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Locate the wash cycle selector knob on the control panel of the washing machine.
  3. Remove the old wash cycle selector knob by pulling it straight off the control panel.
  4. Inspect the knob shaft to ensure that it is not damaged or worn. If the shaft is damaged, it may need to be replaced before installing the new knob.
  5. Align the new wash cycle selector knob onto the knob shaft, ensuring that it is fully seated.
  6. Push the new knob firmly onto the knob shaft until it clicks into place.
  7. Test the new wash cycle selector knob by turning it to different wash cycle settings to ensure that it is functioning correctly.
  8. Once you are satisfied that the new knob is working properly, plug the washing machine back into the power source and turn it on.
If you do not have a replacement knob, you can contact Ariston or a local appliance parts supplier to obtain the correct part. Make sure to have the model number and serial number of your washing machine on hand when ordering a replacement knob to ensure that you receive the correct part.

I have a Kenmore washer #11026002010. I am having problems with the water overfilling and not progressing to the next cycle. Would you have info on the fault codes and also the recalibration procedure

Does it sound like it wants to spin? If so more than likely the motor coupler broke causing your washer to not spin. It is one of the most common parts that fail.

Anyhow Sears is the best bet for your answers they even list all the steps needed to trouble shoot.

My cabrio washing machine want start

start with Activating the service diagnostic modes. You can start with the cycle selector knob at any position.

  1. Be sure the washer is in standby mode (plugged in with all indicators off).
  2. Perform the following sequence of movement using the cycle selector knob. NOTE: After reset, sequence "a" through "e" must be completed within 6 seconds. When it tells you to rotate the cycle selector knob, it means 1 click, not a full turn. Once you have completed the cycle knob turns reset and "a" through "e", turn the cycle selector 1 click clockwise from the position it is already in. This is the fault code display mode. Then press the start button. Each time you turn the cycle selector knob 1 click clockwise after pressing start will show you an error code. Note: this washer stores 4 codes if any. The error codes on this washer are displayed in this format: F5 E3, F7 E1, etc. There is an error code chart in the image below.

If there are no error codes stored, I recommend that you start from the beginning (step 1 above) and then run the Automatic test mode. If this unit detects a problem, it will display the error at the end of this test.

Post the results back to me.

Washer will not start

I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

This particular washer has a test that we can run to see any errors. This can be confusing on this model.

Activating the service diagnostic modes.

If there are no error codes stored, you will need to replace the control board. Here is a link to the part.

Bosch Nexxt 500 series washer program cycle selector knob just spins and no longer clicks in place to select a cycle. How do I fix this?

This is a failure of the program controller timer unit and it must be replaced as the locking mechanism or the stepper motor link had failed.

My kenmore 417 94082500 dryer keeps pausing and shutting off with no errors between 5 and 10 min from starting.

Rotate the cycle selector knob three clicks clockwise (3 o'clock position) from the Normal cycle option then press and hold the Select and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously for six seconds.Immediately after, press and hold the START and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously for 4 seconds. Rotate the cycle selector knob one click counterclockwise (2 o'clock position) and the error code will appear in the digital display as an "E" followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters. Post back the error code for further advice.

WHDSR209DWW on/off button will not engage to spin the cycle selector dial

The cycle selector is not engaged onto the timer shaft. Need to remove the on/off knob by removing the plastic "U" clip. Remove the cycle selctor knob and check that the steel spring clip on the selector is fully seated. Re-install the cycle selector onto the timer shaft aligning the selector key with the with tthe notch on the timer shaft. Re-install the on/off knob.

The cycle selector and on/off combination is a poor design. Users press the on/off knob in and turn clockwise to set the wash cycle. If you're not gentle this action wears the teeth on the timer shaft and the user has to press harder and harder to set the wash cycle. This pressing causes the cycle selector to be pushed off the timer shaft and you can no longer operate the machine.

VERY IMPORTANT:
Stop using the on/off knob to set the wash cycle. Press on the cycle selector to set the wash cycle. Use the on/off knob only for starting or stopping the machine. Don't press or pull too hard on the on/off knob or you will wind up pushing the cycle selector off the timer shaft.
