On my kenmore fridge 970-671020 there is a continuous water pooling on the bottom where the crispers are ...how do we fix it
not a good model number,if the freezer is on top and water is under the crispers you have a blocked drain in the freezer, when the machine goes into defrost a heater comes on and melts all frost off of the evaporator coil, the water goes down a drain hose down to where the compressor and condenser coil is and evaporates, you drain is blocked and the water is leaking into fridge section.remove everything from freezer, shut it down first or unplug it,remove the back inside wall of freezer, look under the coil and you'll see ice, melt it out with hair dryer and remove any ice on freezer floor, then heat up the drain hole, you can stick a screw driver into the hole,it will help melt the ice out,i use a steemer to do this job,if you don't have one use anything that will push air into the hole like a turkey baster, when you think it's clear pour hot water into hole,if it drains down you're done,if not keep hitting it,you can open the fridge door and heat up the center part of ceiling and back wall, this is also where drain is,if it happens again you can buy a heater probe or make one out of a piece of copper wire like the ground wire in house electrical wire, cut like a six inch piece, stick it into the drain hole and rap the other end around the heater, when the heater comes on the copper will heat up to keep the drain open,if the heater is glass there will be a metal cover, connect the copper to the metal and it will be fine.good luck,if you need more helplet me know.salde
