If you are using a digital signature or token it might be the culprit. Try to start word in safe mode by typing "winword /a" or "winword /safe" in RUN and check does the same thing.

G4 Desktop wont load, all i can see is a question mark flashing on and off in the centre of the screen

Try booting it into single-user mode holding down Command(Apple) and S buttons when powering up. Then in terminal console, use chkdsk -fy. Use it and use it again until comes back with something like "Volume appears to be OK". Then use command: mount -uw / and then type reboot and try booting normally.

Dell Optiplex GX280 Bluescreen and Hardrive problem

Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.

When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.

If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.

When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.

At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r , and then press ENTER.

At the command prompt, type exit , and then press ENTER to restart your computer.

The system should boot back into Windows.

If that doesn't work follow the above steps again but after you type the Administrator password ...

At the command prompt, type fixmbr and continue the next two steps.

THIS SOLUTION IS ONLY FOR A DAMAGED FILE SYSTEM.

Intel wirless connectivity interruption

go to the run program on your computer. in its box, type in cmd.exe. Your MS DOS will come up. type ipconfig/ release. then type ipconfig/ renew. If that does not work, try doing a system restore to an earlier time. if that does not help, google your issue. Your issue is minor. I have had that happen to me before. Once I did all three of these things that I have mentioned here, it got fixed. I did all three of them, so I cannot tell you a direct pinpoint of which one actually corrected the problem. Ohh, I also cleared out the cache of my computer and went to my hard drive properties, and cleaned up the disk. I defragmented my hard drive as well.
