Logon with the account that you made the mistake on, go into the settings for that account and change it. Or you can logon and go to settings and delete it and try the whole thing over again

As of this reply, I do not think you can delete your craigslist account. The only thing you can do is use the Contact CL option and request the account be removed.

Facebook

Facebook makes it very obvious how to deactivate your account; it's under Account Settings > Security > Deactivate your account. Don't be fooled! Deactivation isn't deletion, and when you chose this option, Facebook holds on to all your bits and pieces juuuuussssssst in case you change your mine. You need to head to the Delete My Account page and click the big blue button. That's it, you're officially off Facebook. The process might take up to a fortnight to complete since the system has to scan the entirety of itself making sure all data related to you—every tagged picture, like, and mention—but when it's gone, it's all gone. The process is irreversible.

Don't worry, though; if you still want that treasure trove of pictures and updates living on your hard drive, you can download the whole shebang by going to Account Settings > General > Download a copy of your Facebook Data > Start My Archive.

You can even delete the whole account, but don't access it within 14 days, because if you do so, they keep the account "alive".
First try to delete as much as you can from the old account, so nothing can pop up after years.

As strange as it may seem, Facebook is giving the correct answers. Fot that click the link.
Be aware if you reenter the account within the 14 days, you should leave it alone, you again will have activated the account.
Before you start the whole procedure, I would delete as much as pictures and notes as possible. You will deactivate the account, but what is in the account, could be on the net for ages.

Once you have an email address , it's your email address and that's that . Some mail providers will lock your account if it's inactive for a period of time. Just don't give out that address anymore . Or you can delete your whole account with whichever email provider you use. Good luck !
