Thanks Greg. It didn't repair the problem, but did set me on the path for possibilities I hadn't considered. In the end, I pulled the speed sensor and found it full of debris. Once I used Q-Tips and alcohol, it worked perfectly. So simple and such a pain at the same time. A Great Day to All!

Hi There, ... it sounds like a bad lower control board or MCB. Most control boards used by Johnson Health Tech, parent to Matrix, Horizon, Vision, Merit, AFG and others, have a small potentiometer on them for torque and/or speed adjust, that can be gently turned to the right, CW, to about 3/4 turn as the torque adjust widens the current sense threshhold slightly allowing a bit more current to the motor. This adjustment should only be done with the unit off unless you are used to working with treadmills. Fitness Remedy in Sun Prairie Wis., repairs most fitness electronics.

Hotpoint TDC62p is making a buzzing/humming sound and the drum will not spin though it does move if you push it.

Either something is binding the blower wheel up or the motor is bad. The best thing is to take the front of the machine off to access the blower wheel to verify ifanything is indeed binding it.IF not read the next section.
If you can turn the drum and then the dryer starts you have a bad motor. The way the dryer works is when you initially push the start button, electricity is sent to the start winding, or stator, of the motor. This will in turn start the motor turning. From there the stator will drop out of the electrical process and at the same time the run winding, or rotor, will take over and the motor will continie to run. Your stator is damaged, has a burn spot, etc so by you turning the drum, the belt around the drum is moved which is attached to the motor pulley. You basically take the place of the stator. Long story short, you have a bad motor.

My proform xp 620 treadmill starts up fine and I can walk on it up to 4 mph. However, when I try to go up to 5 mph, the belt stops moving and the display screen goes blank.

1) adjust sensor reed switch or optical disk by 1/8" aprox and replace if neccesary after if the problem persist.
Chech the plug connector console panel vs. and controller board. If everything is wrong the console panel is bad.

2002 Buick Park Ave gas pedel sticks

I would inspect the throttle cable first of all. They do have a braded cable which can break a strand and bind at areas inside the surrounding cable housing. It would be easiest to remove it from the throttle body and work it freely. That way you can tell if it binds up. Have some one push and pull up the gas pedal as well to inspect. You will know if this is the problem your having. Also lube the cable if you think it is still good to reuse

I have a sportcraft tx 2.5 treadmill thats needs it stops on 7 sec evertime i moved and lost the manual to it what should i do

Can you give more details? are you saying it stops 7 seconds after you step on it, (every time)?

If so, have you had the treadmill a while? this is an indicator of a worn belt. the belt is not sliding like it should, and drawing too much current. your control board will 'clip' the current off after a pre-set time, to avoid burning up components.

other things it could be:
1. your belt is too tight. did you tighten it lately? When did your treadmill start doing this?
2. The motor is going bad, and drawing too much current.
3. motor control board is bad.

look at your motor's current rating: measure the current draw when you get on it. if the current draw is ~ 80% of the rated current of the motor, and your belt is good,..and not too tight, it could be the motor.

if the treadmill is stopping while only drawing 4 or 5 amps, I would lean towards the control board is bad.

cheapest way to get started troubleshooting. Ensure the belt is not too tight, (adjust to only about 3 inches slack, when you pull up on it). next. buy some belt lubricant and lube it up.

If this doesn't fix your problem, keep looking for other fixya help. someone with SportCraft TX 2.5 specific experience. Sorry, I only have generic help here.

good luck.

GAS DRYER, JUST REPLACED BELT BUT DRUM WILL NOT TURN WITH CLOTHES IN IT.

My guess: bad motor bearings which let the rotor move off-center and bind.
Usually the motors are not repairable
