Do they overflow if too many clothes are loaded?
SOURCE: Whirlpool washer overflow during wash cycle
What you can try is to get the machine empty and remove the hose that connects the pressure hose to the switch and blow air through it to make sure it is clear, then tap on the nozzle where the hose connects on the switch to make sure it is also clear.

Remove the control console cover. Find the water level switch.
It has a small tube attached to it.
Remove the tube and blow air through it. It is probably stopped up. Reattach it to the water level switch.
Look over the length of the tube and may sure it is not pinched.
Set the washer to spin and run spin for about 1 minute.
Then run water on a lower level and see if it shuts off.
If not replace the water level switch.

sounds like you have a broken motor coupling between the motor and transmission
Im assuming that the water is not releasing all the powder and your spin cycle is not completing its cycle....
Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. Overfilling in your washer occurs mainly due to two things:
water inlet valve going bad and/or the water level switch. If the water inlet
valve has gone bad it won't be able to shut off even when the electricity has
been turned off. If the issue is with the water level switch then it won't tell
the water to shut off and the machine will overflow as this switch is to sense
the water level in the clothes tub. However, with that being said it seems that
you'll need to replace the water inlet valve. Please rate the solution if the
issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Thanks
