Sound no picture screen sort of red - Samsung LN46B650 46/49.5 in. LCD HDTV

go to a unused video input and turn color off----screen there should not be red or even somewhat red, if it is the red screen control may have to be lowered just slightly.

check the connections in the back of the tv. If you are using a cable/satellite box, what sort of cable connects it to your tv? If HDMI then you should have sound and video thought that one cable. If component (5 plugs in total red,green,blue, and audio red/white) make sure the red green and blue plugs are seated in all the way on both the tv and the cable box.

* this is a coman problum if your tv set is 7 to 8 year old.

This is a "mal-discharge" fault & will need either an adjustment on the Y-Sustain board or a software update to the control board. Contact your LG dealer to arrange someone to sort this out for you.

I'm afraid you'll have to buy a new plasma screen. The gas inside the screen is a sealed unit and it would have been disturbed by dropping the plasma screen. If the seal is broken then all sorts of funny colours and pictures would show on the screen, and unfortunately it would require a completley new plasma. I wouldnt of thought it would be fixable.

Depending on age, it sounds as if picture tube has an intermintent short in the red gun. tap on the center of the screen to see if it goes away, if it does,I would strongly say that the tube is gone; but you could try openning it and check if the crt board is mounted on the tube's neck properly. do this at your own risk since you might get a shock if not familiar on how to handle tv's.

Can you post a picture of the Tv with the issue stated?
