I see your question is labeled under Frigidaire refrigerator, FGHB2844LF, and you are having difficulty engaging the water filter. Based off that model you should be able to push on the face of the water filter and slide the old cartridge out. First, to install the new cartridge you would need to remove the caps off of it. Secondly, using the alignment guide slide the new filter into the housing until it stops against the snap-in connector. Thirdly, push firmly until you hear the click which indicates that your filter has been engaged. Lastly press a glass against the water dispenser to verify no leaks are present at the filter housing. Put the old one back in and if water works, then the new filter is blocked. Buy another filter.......

Open and shut the water valve quickly to verify the water supply, it could be a bad water supply valve. Bench test the filters for flow or obstruction.

The filter for the french door refrigerator is probably behind the vegetable drawer, if you do not see it in the upper right hand corner of the refrigerator compartment. Remove the veggie drawer and turn off the water coming into the refrigerator. Rotate the old filter to the unlocked position and remove it. Then take off the protective cap from the new cartridge and insert it into the refrigerator. Rotate it to the locked position. (Rotate the filter to position the label before you insert the filter. Then the filter goes in correctly.) Reinsert the vegetable drawer and close the doors. Then turn the water back on and fill several glasses with water to clean the filter. Pour that water down the drain at your sink.

There is an oring ( black washer that looks like a black band ) that is not in place . You must have that to keep it from leaking.

You have a mesh screen in the water supply line where it connects to the water inlet valve. It can be stopped up with sediment.
