Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. Surf the site with patience.

SOURCE: philips 55 inch tv weirdness

If it is turning off by itself then your power supply might be going out. If it does not bother you too much right now I would wait until it gets worst. Depending on how much you use it it may not get worst in months.

No picture but I do have sound on a 55G300U

You might want to checked for bulged electrolytic caps on the power supply, that need changed or just replace the power supply module. Another thing that you can try, is to unplug the set from the wall for 40 Min, the video processor IC, could be locked up and that will reset it back to normal.

I have a 55 in Toshiba 55G300U. In order for it to turn on, you have to wiggle the cord. Even when its on, someone has to stand there for it to stay on. whats the problem and how much on average will the...

sounds like it is just a cracked solder joint on the power cord receptacle, as for repairs, as long as it is only a cracked solder joint there would be no parts required to repair it just a matter of opening up the set and re-soldering the joint. at most you would have to pay for probably a minimum service charge at a repair shop (if you are mechanically inclined and have done any soldering yourself it is a very easy repair to do yourself). Good luck and God Bless.

How do i adjust convergence on a 55 inch toshiba

You need an original working Toshiba remote: two choices here--in the customer menu there will be an option for this and there is a hidden tech menu for finer adjustment all over the screen.

Usually the customer mode works ok--if you find red or blue will not adjust somewhere you have a problem-that aside tell me what you are trying to acheive?
