The Epson folks are probably right - the problem is most likely with the tablet, and not the printer. The "spooler" is part of the software driver setup that the tablet uses to prepare the file to be printed for transmittal to the printer. The best option here is to uninstall and reinstall the printer to the tablet and try again. Usually that solves issues with print spoolers.

Not all tablets are compatible.
There are a number of apps you can look at that will easily connect to a wifi printer if you have one.
I connected my ipad to a Canon all in one printer and it works well.

Firstly, your printer needs to have a wireless connection, then you connect your printer via wireless to your tablet. Just make sure the wireless option is switched on, on the printer.
