I have a GE washer/dryer Model WSM2700RAWWH stack type and the dryer is taking very long time to dry the clothes. Please advise if it can be fixed. If not what will be best alternate washer/dryer stack...

first things first. if any dryer regardless of brand takes 2-3 hours to dry cloths 90% of the time it is your exhaust duct. take the exhaust duct off the back of the dryer and dry some clothes if the clothes dry fast then you need to have your exhaust duct cleaned. either DIY or call a professional
if it still takes a long time to dry then it could be the thermostats or the thermistor.
but in my experience its normally the exhaust duct.

I have a gas dryer. Dryer heats up but doesn't dry clothes completely all the time. Sometimes I have to run it 2 -3 times. What do i need to replace? Maytag Performa Model # PYG2000AWW REV. 10 Serial #...

I got cut short.. and disconnected...so if this is a repeat, please forgive me:
Dryers 101
1. Heat alone does not dry clothes
2. Air alone does not dry clothes.
3. Only dry, heated air passing over and through clothes will dry them...

I recommend the following:
Set the dryer for "Air Dry".
Go outside and check the dryer exhaust.
Confirm that the exhaust is spewing out lots of air.

If it is, then you have a need for a technician to inspect everything - in person.

If it is NOT, the you need to determine the clog - or reason that air is not moving through your dryer, clothes and exhaust system.

ONLY 2 possibilities exist:
1. Fan motor is frozen and needs replacement....or
2. Duct/exhaust is clogged with lint and will not allow air to pass through.

Please check for both, clean/clear/fix as needed.

Dirty Mirror

You must be very careful when cleaning the mirror, it is not like any other mirror as the silver is on the front of the glass. I believe that Hitachi's are made of glass and not mylar.
Do not use a glass cleaner, as they have drying agents in them.
I try to avoid cleaning the mirror unless it is really dirty. It is very easy to leave streaks on the surface.
Most likely you would be well served by using a mild detergent in a bowl of water, a soft cloth, (I like to use cloth baby diapers) anything that is lint free. Do not let the cloth drip into the set.
Clean the surface with the damp cloth and dry with a clean dry cloth.
Try to use the dry cloth to remove any streaks.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Dryer starts drying and thinks clothes are dry, but they aren't

Check the timer, and the sensor. Sounds like it is having a problem with the timer or sensor no noticing that the clothes are still wet. Please rate if satisfied. Thank you

Dryer Problem

EC4 The temperature of air vent
Within 30 minutes of dry cycle there is 5 minutes in which the temperature is not increasing.

You need to call for repairs. Probably the heating element is faulty.

You can create a custom program without a dry cycle and hang dry your clothing.
