It says the launcher has stopped and it won't do anything. What can I do?

go to launcher, stop it and clear data and cache. Exit the settings menu and restart.

Always try a reboot first. If that fails go into settings, go to apps, then might have to go to system apps, see if you can start it from there. If it starts and stops, could be another app is interfering or you got too much installed and are low in memory. You can try to install a startup manager app and make sure to turn off all unnecessary apps from auto starting. If that fails, you can then try to reset to factory defaults and start all over. Just reinstall your apps one at a time and make sure system is stable after each install.

Unfortunately, I purchased the same tablet and found it to be junk as well. I returned it and was sent an M9200...just as bad, so they refunded my money and I still have the terribly, slow tablet. Try resetting the tablet by uncovering the tiny hole to reset it covered by a small sticker on the back of the tablet.

You can use alternates to the Home app that defaults on Nooks.

The Home app and the alternatives are all what are called Launchers. You can make your Nook look and feel just like any other tablet you have ever seen. I\'ve personally been using one for years called ADW.Launcher on both my Nooks and just love it. The Nooks default default Home launcher is just a bloody pain to setup.



You can still use both launchers side by side. After running ADW.Launcher for a while you will just ask how you ever got around without it and never want to see Home again.

My tablet recently did the same thing. I tried everything but I eventually had to do a factory reset. Good Luck

You could try the free GO Launcher HD for Android at the Google Play store, (just Google "Asus tablet launcher"), but I find that if I restart the tablet when it says "launcher has stopped" or even just switch to another screen it carries on anyway, so it's hardly worthwhile installing another launcher for an occasional annoyance (so far anyway, fingers crossed).

Look. It happened to me and drove me crazy. I was about to brick my new mobile phone. In my case it was the "Moon call log" icon on the home screen. Believe it or not when I remove the icon the error message no more appears when I restart the mobile phone. Then again when I place it (the icon on home screen) the annoying error message "Unfortunately, Launcher has stopped" will comeback again. In your case it could be any icon or widget.
I solved the problem by uninstalling the application and installing it back from Play Store unlike what I did before by installing it from the .apk file.
