I would say the won't-run problem is separate from the run-on problem. You can live with the run-on problem -- probably a fault in the controller. Unless it's a faulty code, the motor-fault light probably means the motor is overheating. That can be caused by anything that causes it to work hard, such as a stuck pump.

SOURCE: my asko dryer needs replacing, but my asko washer
Hi,
have an electrician wire in a isolated 240v outlet for the washer, or convert the existing dryer plug into an outlet for the washer (pretty easy) and go with a gas dryer if that's an easier less expensive conversion. Either that or you can purchase the materials at a local home depot or comparable hardware outlet.
too bad you don't want another asko dyer. obviously you're experience has been a bad one (or it's too small?) they are likely one of the best in my experience, but unfortunately there seems to be a lack of knowledgeable techs. to service them, as seems to be the case with euro machines in general. (no have no vested interest with asko, I just like the way they're made. ha ha).
hope that helps,
good luck

check inside your washer for nails or other objects . I already seen a nail fall down in one of the basket holes and the nail stuck into the outer tub not allowing the basket to spin. If you dont see anything in the basket holes, then it is your bearings. The burning smell is coming from your belt. The motor is spinning but your basket is not. It is cheaper to buy a new washer. In ordered to fix your washer you have to rebuild it. The bearing are built into the outer tub of the washer.
Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.
if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....
If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.
