its the drum bearings that support the inner drum,you need to replace these bearings,the problem with this is it was manufactured by frigidaire for kenmore and you cant just buy the inner bearing and lip seal as it comes with the outer rear half of the outer.tub where as with maytag neptune or whirlpool duet you can drive these bearin gs out and re-use the tub half,but you can't buy just the bearings and seal for a frigidaire front loader

you better get at this soon,the lip-seal is gone from the outer tub and now water has penetrated the bearings behind this lip-seal,the longer you wait the harder it will be to remove these bearings and if its a plastic outer tub you can destroy this tub when removing the old bearings,the inner tub needs to be removed,the rear access needs to be open the motor pulley removed,the c-clip that secures the outer bearing needs removing then the inner tub can come out the front to access these bearings for replacement

your rear tub support bearing "lip-Seal" has gone out and you need to replace the Lip-Seal and at least the inner bearing,I normally do them both,because it takes a long time to remove the drum and rear access pulley to replace them and if theyre rusted it can take up to 4 hours to replace them,so just do them both and the seal

Hi, Unfortunately you can't...by itself, or at least that is the short answer. If you have the means of matching that bearing up with a bearing making company then hypathetically you can get it. However, through appliance part sources you have to purchase the entire rear wall/outer tub assembly ( #22004465) and if the bearing is gone, likely the spinner support as well. ( # W10181639)I did quite a few year's ago on the first generation MAH3000's under Maytag warranty, it's quite a big job. If you'd like to check it out go to searspartsdirect, ap wagner, or any number of on-line parts supplier's. You should then witness what I mean, as soon as you identify the bearing as a individual part and click on that number you'll automatocally be directed to the complete outer tub rear wall component's. Sadly it is the way thing's are done these day's. I sound old, but I remember being able to rebuild anything ad long as it was built in north america. The link below, courtesy of www.repairclinic.com, shows that the rear bearing comes with the outer tub only and is very pricey! I have been unable to find a service agency that offers just the bearing. Very aggravating. www.maytag.com would be a good place to define your issue.

Central bearing and seal are damaged. Very expensive repair and very expensive parts. Maytag does not sell bearings separately, they're only available with the outer tub, which is $400-$500; Repair itself is another 2-3 hours of hard work. Do the math...

The Neptune bearings are an interesting breed... Maytag wants you to replace the whole outer tub which includes the bearings installed for $180 or so. You can replace the bearings yourself. See www.tonytool.com to see how it is done. The tool costs $379 or so... but it is designed for the service tech. not the d.i.y.er. But watching the video can give you an idea of how to do it yourself. The bearings were available on www.neptunewaxmotor.com for about $35.00. You will also need the Maytag seal kit 12002022 to complete the job whether you decide to replace bearings or the outer tub.
