Toshiba Satellite A215-S4747 Notebook Logo
Ed Payne Posted on Jul 14, 2009

Hi I have a Toshiba satellite laptop M30-127 when I boot up the screen breaks up into many colored lines and the resolution seemed to go I'm told by some Toshiba service technicians that there is a problem with the video / graphics card I need to replace it is this card built into the motherboard itself or can the video card be replaced as an individual item? I understand that the video graphics are powered by an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 video card do I need to change the graphics chip and can it be unplugged, the graphics card or the motherboard? Thanking you in advance Ed

This may or may not be of some help. http://www.laptopka.com/2006/04/12/remove-replace-video-board/

Usually with laptops you have to replace the mobo but looks like there may be a possibility (slim one) that the card can be replaced, however I could not find anything as far as parts to get to replace just the video card so its looking more and more like the whole mobo would need to be replaced.

Most probably, you may need to change *********** board if the video / graphics card is integrated one.

Toshiba Satellite A350D - 003 laptop. Turned it on sounded like it booted right, but the screen is all scramble and looks like colored lines

The LCD screen may be bad, there is a video cable cord from the motherboard to the screen "may have come loose" But first hook a external monitor to the video output on the back of the laptop to see if clears up, if yes! then it is the laptop issue, if no! both LCD screens show the same problem, it is The Video Graphics Card that is part of the motherboard.

My screen is grey with multi colored lines. If I hook up an external monitor I can run in safe mode but the laptop screen is blank, Possibly video board?

it could be a video board. but the only for sure way to find out is if the screen is grey with multi colored lines during the boot. If it only does it after windows starts then it is probably either a driver issue or the wrong resolution ( which i doubt). If it does it during the boot then i would have to say its the video card and i would try to maybe see if its not just the lcd itself. hope it helps let me know if u need more help

Toshiba satellite 25505 screen resizing

Toshiba Laptop Mouse-pad Screen Resizing is annoying. Here is the solution. Go to: Control Panel < Mouse < Device Settings <Settings (middle of page right box) open it and look at menu on left top and select Pinch Zoom and disable it. The pinch zoom re-sizes the window bigger or smaller . This is what happens when you have you left finger on the mouse-pad while scrolling with you right, its doing the same thing as re-sizing the image like one does on a i phone using index finger and thumb.

Toshiba Satellite P105-S6124 Screen lines

Are these lines on the screen during the whole boot process? If so then the screen cpu and/or the video cpu has gone bad. Connect an external monitor. If the picture is clear, no lines, then the problem is the LCD screen. If the lines appear on the external monitor during the boot process then the mother board will need replacement.

Good Luck
