Hi Carol - Sometimes, a product just reaches the end of its life. A product that sees daily (or more use) for 7 years is a pretty good run. Assuming you have cleaned and maintained it, there little more that the end user can do. These makers are more complex that the old "Mr. Coffee" or percolator that used to adorn everyone's countertop; and will often cost more to repair than it's worth. You will find it is easier and quicker to replace it with a new one and probably makes more sense than investing good money in a 7 year old coffee maker.
