It could be broken belt, it also could be safty switch. Start load of clothes, it fills with water, does it agitate? Lift lid, Lil hole on side is say switch. Push pensle down, does it turn then? If not it's the switch at least. .
Try this, unplug washer for two minutes, plug back in, open and close lid seven times slowly, this will reset the computer and the electronic motor. Also on water level switch, make sure hose from switch to tub is not plugged, blow it out, gets clogged with soap.
I fixed it yesterday. After checking the continuity of my lid switch and pressure switch and finding them ok I removed the tubing from the pressure switch and applied air (blew into it). There was a clog and blowing on it removed it for now. Apparently the pressure switch was telling the machine that the tub was full of water and wouldn't let it start the spin cycle. I ran three loads last night and it worked perfect. I may have to remove the connection on the side of the tub and clean it properly if it clogs again.
you need to check the lid switch, does it click. you can unplug and then remove the 2 screws to see it, if it looks like it is coming apart then the lid switch is bad. you can buy one for about $40 or so dollars. i am assuming it doesn't spin either.
Hello dagreen, Welcome to fixya. I'm Huuum and happy to assist you,
You said, Last night you filled the washer with a comforter and pillow cases! It
was working fine and then you lifted the lid. Now it wont start back. Any
ideas. It is full of water and had already started agitating.
Check the breaker Could the power be out due to an electrical storm while you were sleeping. If not!
Try pulling the plug out for 5 minutes or turning the breaker off if you can't reach the plug. Then try to start. this should have reset the system.
Some Questions to check • Is the drain hose clogged, or the end of the drain hose more than 96 in. (244 cm) above the floor? See the Installation Instructions for proper installation of drain hose. • Is the lid open? The lid must be closed during operation. Washer will not agitate or spin with the lid open. • Is there excessive sudsing? Always measure detergent. Follow manufactures directions. If you have very soft water, you might need to use less detergent.
let me know how you do and that it works. Huuum please remember to leave a rating when your finished.
if it wont drain , check your lid switch, check out your motor coupler, if it will not agitate and spin, replace your motor coupler, if it agitates and dont spin, replace your lid switch.
alot of times the washer will drain but we hurriedly cut it off when we hear noise or the water is out but it never spinned and so the clothes are soapy wet...
If it is draining then the motor is turning the pump so it is ok.
This washer has no belt so that is not the problem.
Remove the cabinet and bypass the lid switch wires and put into a spin. Watch the clutch to see if it is turning. If the clutch housing is not turning and you know for sure the coupler is not broken then you need a new transmission. If the clutch housing is turning but the basket is not spinning you have something binding the basket or you need a new basket drive and clutch.
If you have only looked at the coupler from underneath you may not be able to tell if it is broken in the center. If it is broken again your transmission is not staying in neutral drain until the water is drained. That means it is going into spin with full load of clothes and water. This puts a lot of pressure on the coupler and causes them to fail prematurely. If this is the case you will need a new transmission.
