Hello, doesnt sound like much of a problem. Probably a dry joint in the powersupply board. As the tv heats up it cause the components to break contact with the PCB. Its just a matter of resoldering it. Cost? Around $100-$200 should see it out,depending on who you get. I hope I have been of service.
Your unit has fault in the powersupply and this fault also damages main pcb, both power pcb and main pcb needs rebuilt and Eeprom data reset on main pcb after rebuilding power pcb, you can also fix the power pcb yourself but to reset Eeprom you need an expert as if any wrong data is loaded on Eeprom , it will create more fault on tv and may not be worth fixing, AK electronixs 0447962536.QLD
It will be costing Rs.45-50k if it comes to India. I also wanna buy one. But HP has no ideas of marketting it in India. You should order via ebay.com and make ship to india, pay 33% duty here..it may cost you $1100 if you do so.

I have to buy new one and send it to India. This time only siemens or Uniden.
My friend he suggested me to go for american brands like uniden or Siemens. Similar 5.8 ghz technology, he did not have any problem so far.he is using it in india.
