The barrel is half round and half octagon. 32 H.P.S. is stamped on top of the barrel right in front of the receiver. A950 is stamped under the lever. A950 is the only number stamped anywhere on the rifle, so it appears to me that it is the serial number. The barrel is blued, but the receiver is plain steel. Thanks for any help you can offer.
I went google and typed in --marlin rifle model 93 year and identification marks -- and many sites come up
one site I opened is marlin manufacture dates-antique and collectable firearms--
oldguns,net>sn_php>marlinlookup
This site is where you can enter your serial number and submit and it should give you details
There are many other sites that you can surf that may give you what you want
Testimonial: "Thanks Bill. Unfortunately, when I type in the serial number, which is A950, the response is that the serial number cannot contain a letter. When I type in just 950 it tells me that is also invalid. BKH"
how about all the other sites and forums
was there any thing there that can give you a clue
Hi again, Bill. I went to several sites and couldn't get any answers. I even called Marlin at the 800 number I got off their website, and they were unable to give me any information. They re-directed me to [email protected], which was also no help. It's a little frustrating. It's a Marlin rifle. One wouldn't think it would be that difficult to find out when it was manufactured. Again, I truly appreciate your time in trying to help me with this matter.
