What part do I need to fix my LCD TV model LN40B550K1F TV that is going black off and on and then warming up slowly?

I have an LCD TV model LN40B550K1F that was initially flickering but is now coming on and going black (with faint images behind) before warming up in 20-30 minutes and presenting a solid picture. I jave checked the capacitors and they all appear prinstine without bulges. Can you identify the likely cause/replacement required?

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Samsung ln40b550k1f screen flickers on and off

When the screen flickers on and off it usually comes from the power supply or backlight inverter being bad. For your TV, the backlight inverter and power supply unit are combined. As you can see in the picture attached it's the white part on the right side that has gone bad. You will need to replace that board. LN40B550K1F Samsung LCD TV Repair Guide

The screen will flicker blue a few times and then go black. There seems to be nothing else going on besides this. Before it would take about five minutes or so to warm up. What do you think could be wrong...

LCD flat panel or PLASMA? Make and Model? TV repair these days will run from $150 and up Plus Parts.
If it is LCD, it can be failing power supply due to bad DC filter caps.

Screen will periodically go half black. Then it goes back to normal. Or the black slowly creeps up from bottom of screen.

Ur backlight video board is dying, just not completely dead yet.Must replaced to solved this prob.
