Pull cord in my storm force snow blower will not retract how do I fix it?

It was running and stopped while using or it worked one day but not the next?
The Machine stopped running or just the electric starter? If just starter check to see if snow/ice built up around starter button.

When you assemble the Recoil Starter, push it down onto the blower easily and then pull the cord slowly. It should drop into position as you slowly pull the cord.

take it apart, fix the pull cord

if it does nothing, check to be sure you have 120v power out of cord
push starter button do you hear a click/ if not micro swtch is bad
if you do than starter motor is bad

Can you pull the engine over and then the cord locks or you can't pull the cord at all?

if it's new take it back should have a one year warrenty on it if yo can't get it done for free get back to me so I can help you you may have a damaged windind head.

it sounds like it may be you armeture[coil], it heats up and stops.

-In bnjays case the rope was broken. Sometimes the rope retracks partially or slowly because the surface that the spring edges rub against when retracting the cord, are badly rusted. Disassemble and wire brush the rust off, or leave assembled and spray in thru holes in the pull start with WD40.Avoid getting WD40 on the rope.
