The board where the power button is located (same board for the other buttons too) is probably bad. It's all one board, which tells the power board to come on. If this happened after a power surge, and you're not using a surge protector, multiple boards can be bad. (You can't just plug these fragile TV and Blu-Ray players into the wall outlet. Eventually a surge will destroy them). Ps... A lot of people are suddenly making this same complaint with Vizio TV's.
Yes you did something wrong. You pulled out a board not knowing what board you pulled out. HP printers don't have "mother boards". I am guessing that you removed the formatter(left rear on the printer). Hopefully you had power off and you grounded yourself. Since it isn't working now, power down and remove that board again and slide it back in to reseat it. Make sure that it slides in correctly. Screw it in and power up. The green lights where the network cable plugs in should be blinking if you can get it to initialize. Hopefully, the board didn't blow and it works now.
Yes; sad to say, but your board probably will need replacing. Spilling drinks on your computers, esp laptops, isn't a good thing to do. I have never experienced spilling anything on my computers personally, but I know other people why have, and the motherboard is what they had to replace.
The part number that you reference is teh complete D board and is available from tritronicsinc.com for $313.49 with a DUD return of $115.00 This means that you return the bad baord and get a credit of $115 when the board is received back at tritronicsinc.

The four cap replacement in DM module repair is simplistic
and incomplete, as you found out. ALL defective DM modules
have bad SMC's ( small "top hat" caps) AKA surface-mount
capacitors that can be changed only by the most highly skilled
bench techs. We used to change out hundreds years ago in
camcorder circuit board repair.DM board repair is a much more
