With the Mackie PPM608 Mixer, our passive speakers aren't working. We use CVi-252s, but I'm sure it's an issue with the mixer rather than the speakers.

We've had this same set up for a year with no issues. I checked wires, no issue. When plugging into the mixer only 1 speaker works, the one plugged into the speaker out A output. The speaker out B output doesn't work. There's also static from the one working speaker. The mixer also won't adjust volume/gain, so we had to do that from the computer for the one speaker. The lights on the front of the mixer also aren't showing up with the gain, but the green power sign is still lighting up. Please let me know if you have any ideas to fix this! The mixer was working fine a week ago, last time it was used.

Get a plug cable and work the plug in and out of all INSERT or BYPASS jacks. These get rusty and interrupt signals.
If that is a no, open up and check power supply voltages and all cable connectors, might have been vibration and something got loose...

Mackie mixer will not work with windows 8

well depending upon the mixer and windows version you may have issues. Windows 8 is a 64bit platform, your mixer may only have 32bit drivers (x86). Try visiting the mackie forum for your mixer.

I have a mackie fx 8 mixer connected to two thump 15 " speakers. i want to add a set of base non- powered speakers with power amp to my fx 8. what are the connections?

Balanced audio interconnects (either XLR or TRS cables from the mixer and then balanced audio interconnects from the amp daisy chain inputs to the existing speaker inputs. If the amps do not have linked input jacks, then use TRS type WYE connectors at the inputs. Then use speaker rated cables from the amps to the passive speakers.

How do I hook up two powered 15's and two passive 15's to this mixer(1202-VLZ3)?

You connect the powered 15's using balanced cables. The passive speakers you will have to get an amplifier for as the mixer does NOT have a powered output, only line-level audio outputs.
The powered speakers MAY have audio line level outputs to continue to other powered speakers or, as in your case, external amplifiers to drive your passive speakers.
Remember to power ALL interconnected equipment from the same receptacle or source to avoid ground bounce faults that can destroy sensitive circuits in your equipment.

We use a mackie dfx 12 mixer and 2 mackie srm450 active speakers for a band situation the mics are sure sm58s we have to keep the levels of each cannel mixers quite high what are we doing wrong

Does the VU-meter (green/yellow/red strips of LEDs) on the mixer go all the way to the top when you adjust gain and slider level?
If yes, try boosting up the active speakers by adjusting the small volume button at the back of the speakers.
Also, make sure the equalizer (on the mixer) is set at 0 (the middle) for every slider (And not at -12). The 'voice cancellation' and 'break swich' should also both be unpressed.

Sub remote works with two passive satallite monitors but sub has no sound

If sub has two signal outputs and if the monitors are full range (passive crosover built in), put mixer outputs to the sub and signal outputs of the sub to amps in.If not mixer outputs to th amp and its signal outputs to the sub in.Or you can use main out of the mixer for the monitors and rec out for the sub.Its just few XLR or jack cables extra.Just make sure that the mixer, sub and the amp are on the same power phase otherwise you'll have brrrrrrrrrrr on the speakers
